Governance
Through the active involvement of its members, EACL shapes the future of climate law in Europe. The Association offers various opportunities to join committees and working groups, share expertise, and help guide decisions that strengthen the European climate law community.
Executive Board
EACL is led by an Executive Board elected by the Association’s members. Michael Rodi is the current President of the Association.

Early Career Researchers
Younger generations will be crucial to addressing shortcomings in climate protection and charting new paths in climate law. EACL is therefore committed to supporting Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and giving them a central role within the Association.
Two ECR representatives – Ievgeniia Kopytsia and Michael Kalis – currently serve on the EACL Executive Board, ensuring that younger perspectives actively inform and guide the Association’s work.
Working Groups
EACL plans to establish working groups to address emerging challenges and opportunities in climate law. These groups will offer members a platform to collaborate on specific topics, exchange knowledge, and contribute to research, policy, and practice across Europe and beyond.
Bylaws
EACL is an association under German law (“Verein”) registered in the register of associations of Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg (VR 42088). Further details on the association’s governance can be found in the association’s bylaws.
